MINDY SMITH RETURNS WITH “STUPID LOVE”

May 2009 – With an angelic voice and songs full of faith, grace and vulnerability, Mindy Smith has been embraced by critics and fans alike with each recording she unveils. With her fourth release, Stupid Love on Vanguard Records, Mindy takes another step forward both lyrically and musically.
Stupid Love finds Mindy co-producing along with Ian Fitchuk and Justin Loucks. The three explore and expand with different sounds making an impressive backdrop to the thirteen tracks on the record. Written over a two year period, each song delves into the various stages of relationships; the highs, the lows, the emotional investments made, how they can change us and move forward. For Mindy, Stupid Love is a statement of where she is now from where she has been.

Mindy was a guest on Mountain Stage back in August of 2008. Most of the stations that aired the performance originally will be re-broadcasting that episode, featuring Mindy, David Lindley, John Hammond, Chuck Leavell and Butterfly Boucher during the weekend of March 20-22.
